678440 2008-06-14 21:52:00 Hi
When i first partitioned my drive i didnt not think how many programs i would end up installing, i thought i would only need a little space for c:\. Its not enough now that i have to install service pack 3. so i though i should extend the partition. how successful is this?. i was thinking to do it from utilities in Hirens Boot CD.

What say?.

678441 2008-06-14 21:57:00 It can be done and is usually safe to do so I did mine using gparted in ubuntu linux run as a live cd but any partition programmes should do it. just back up any data gary67 (56)

what if both partitions have data on then, say my C:\ holds windows xp on ntfs and the partition which iam going to borrow from also has data. how will this work?

Defrag both drives then create a new partition at the end of the second one then move data from second to third and then merge one and two.
