| 678343 | 2008-06-14 06:20:00 | This will sound stupid, but I'm unable to open up both side panels on an old PC. I've got one off, but the one on the side of the motherboard is really bugging me. I can't get it to move at all. The PC in question is a DSE bought Acer aspire SA80. Does anyone have any helpful hints? I'm trying to replace a failed DVD drive. |

I'm trying to replace a failed DVD drive. in some cases dvd drives sit in a cage that you remove first by unclipping or unscrewing it then you can unscrew the drive to remove. post a pic of the dvd drive from the side of the case you opened. |

| 678351 | 2008-06-14 06:41:00 | If its the same case as Gary posted - this may sound rough but its not - remove the two retaining screws to and bottom, get a thin flat bladed screwdriver and just below the top screw hole, slide it in and twist it slightly - often the side is simply stuck in the alignment holes, nothing wrong, just a tight fit. | wainuitech (129) | ||
