678255 2008-06-14 00:35:00 Hi There, does anyone know where I could find an programm that would check the speed from the RAM to the motherboard? Or it would check the speed in the motherboard....or something like that. mark1978 (13845)
678256 2008-06-15 02:11:00 I have googled but find nothing... mark1978 (13845)

678258 2008-06-15 11:25:00 Everest is only to tell you what KIND of RAM the computer can use I think, not to run a speed test.

Why do you need to run such a test (even if one exists)?

678259 2008-06-15 11:32:00 Plenty of benchmark apps report write and read speed of ram.

Aido32 does it, Found under "benchmark"....

Several benchmarks exist beeswax. I can not believe you do not know this.

678261 2008-06-15 14:39:00 Why would I need to? I buy RAM and look at the speed that it tells me on the pack i.e DDR400 or whatever.

I don't think I would ever care what speed my RAM was to the Mobo or vice-versa. Why would you ever run this kind of test Sweep?

No, Everest has a benchmarking utility that measures the RAM latancy\Write & Read speeds, and shows your results against other spec'd pc's

If you OC, then this can be important to you. If you just take your parts' speed at stock then most of the time you couldn't care less, I guess. I bought my RAM specifically because it was higher spec, (and not that much more expensive than other 2x2GB kits) and plan to OC, so the speed IS important to me.

678264 2008-06-15 22:25:00 Your write speed should be pretty close to whatever the RAM's specced to, IE DDR2-800 5400 (if that exists, I'm just making it up) should write at 5400MB/S...

As per Mhz, that depends on your divider between your CPU and your RAM. Your BIOS will tell you the divider, and may even tell you the speed.
