2005-11-26 11:32:00 | I expect my word to be taken as legimate on a topic like this, there was obviously nothing he could do to fix it, to say there is nothing wrong with it is to call me a liar, to call my complaint a lie . End of argument . That is where their customer relations sucked . You got treated badly but just think for a minute how many customers they must get bringing stuff back that they want replaced or refunded under warranty illegitimately . You only have to browse these forums to see how many people damage their motherboard, RAM or whatever and say they will return it "under warranty" - it must go on all the time . Sure they should have taken your word for it but having people trying to pull the wool over their eyes on a regular basis has probably hardened them up quite a bit . I have bought a few minor things from Dragon and a couple of months ago my USB flash drive stopped working so I took it back . The guy plugged it in and had a look at it and fortunately all it needed was a reformat after somehow going belly up so I learnt something valuable that day . If it had been more than that no way would I have walked out the door without a replacement, however . As for Dragon being "incredibly cheap", they are not . I purchased from them purely out of convenience but would far prefer to go to Ascent .

2005-11-26 22:46:00 | a couple of things to consider here..... it worked in their shop therefore its not faulty untill proven. naturally they never take customers word for it, with so many professional crooks these days who would. throwing a hissy or useing bad laugage certainly dosn't help. nothing was mentioned about actually leaving it there so they could soak test it. your dealing with people, you will always get a "bad hair day" now and then. its unavoidable.

2005-11-27 06:14:00 | Actually I have to concede that I was pretty irate when I posted this thread, as time passes and the weekend shines I concede that I just got some bad service. So what? I have had it elsewhere and hadn't felt the need to rant on about it on PC world :) Wanna know about the reputable bike shop who serviced my bike and didn't tighten the derailer cable which left me stranded in teh middle of nowhere? So in conclusion don't condemn the store because of my bad experience, apart from this they have been OK in the past. They just won't see me again in their shop, probably to the relief of all concerned.

2005-11-27 19:43:00 | May I recommend that rather than badmouthing them, you contact them and actually tell them how you feel? In business it's sometimes hard to know if something is broken (such as service) unless you're told about it. Unless you complain to them, you have no reason to feel hard done by. At least give them an opportunity to explain their side - you may be suprised. | pixeldust (6619) | |

2005-11-27 20:16:00 | Meh, When people come back with misbehaving Flash drives I just format them and tell em if it happens again I'll replace it. I would of course try and find out if the user had formatted it themselves but if they had files they couldn't delete then its safe to say they haven't, otherwise the files would be gone.... On the flip side, Flash drives have a high rate of failure.
