407486 2005-11-29 03:21:00 Actually, this could have a down side ... I imagine there are a few people rather puzzled to find their search for Rhubarb Muffins (www.google.co.nz) ending up in a computer forum. :D

hehe i remember that thread - this search (Great Warez) (www.google.co.nz)also brings up the same thread.
 (www.pressf1.co.nz)

Hey, they got a damn fine recipe for muffins, so they shouldn't have any complaints.

And on an ironic note, while we have done some search engine optimisation with other parts of our sites in the past, the current F1 has had little beyond the basic meta tags done, I believe. It's VBulletin that's Google friendly, it seems.

As for Search Engine bots, back in the bad old days (and I think many of us remember those) they used to bring many of our sites, including F1, to a crawl. I spend quite a bit of time doing the necessary tags to tell them to Go Away And Not Come Back but funnily enough there are many Search Engine bots that pay no attention at all to the instructions which are supposed to tell them to leave you alone.

The web logs showed literally dozens apon dozens of different bots and only a small handful were the big name engines.

In the end the best solution is to have a hardware platform that handles them.

Yep, VBulletin is very search engine frendley :D
