407223 2005-11-29 02:43:00 So can anyone with the full game confirm if it supports dual axis pedals or not?

On a seperate issue - from what I saw in the demo if you take your foot (finger) off the gas the brakes come on - is this by design?

407224 2005-11-29 03:42:00 I don't know what you mean by dual axis but I have a MS FF wheel and pedals and it works fine. And no to your second question.

407225 2005-11-29 03:50:00 Does it recognise when you are pressing the brake and accellerator at the same time (usually resulting in a burn out)?

If your pedals are single axis the answer to the above question isn't going to help me much though...

Dual axis is both pedals have there own "sensor axis" - so the computer can recognise the input from both pedals at once. Single axis pedals only register one pedal at any time - ie. if the accellerator is down then a brake press while the accellerator is down will not be picked up.

Thats not a seperate issue, Due to the demo not recorgnising 2 axis pedals it assigns the brake and gas to the same pedal/axis....

I was told that even the demo had a setting to force twin axis but I didn't see it before I deleted it. I can't tell you if its fixed peoperly in the full game but it shouldn't be hard to find out , I saw mass complaints about it happening on certain Logitech and MS wheels on the demo, so if its like that in teh full then somewhere people will be having a cry about it.

407227 2005-11-29 03:57:00 Hmm...

I never tried the demo with my wheel - Logitech - there is an option in the Windows Control Panel to enable dual axis but I never saw an option in the game either (possibly due to not using the wheel?).

407228 2005-11-29 06:29:00 I have no problems with the full game.

407229 2005-11-29 21:07:00 Well I think they have ruined one of the best features from NFSU2, the tuning, we have gone backwards from a decent level of options that let you actually really improve performance if you knew what you were doing, to a 'handling' bar and a 'turbo' bar etc.
That and the way there are only 2-4 body kits per car and they all come as full sets not individual bits that you can swap around..

apart from those 2 pet peeves I still think NFSU2 was better...

407230 2005-11-29 23:26:00 I never really got into NFSU or NFSU2 - I played them both (quite a bit of NFSU) but all the jappa cars and night driving really pulled away from the whole NFS feel - it was more directly aimed to the fast and the furious fans - maybe EA should have just named those games after the movie(s).

NFSHP2 was a good game but far from finished - ridiculous replay system, it was buggy and needed hardware 2 generations ahead of what it was released on to get it running well - I think this was just due to bad optimisation.

To be honest I would really like to see the early NFS - "Road and Track presents NFS: Special Edition" released with updated graphics, sound and physics (and some new cars too) - now that was a good game! I sure miss the Alpine "track/road" and the raw power of the untweaked supercars was awesome...

407231 2005-11-30 01:41:00 The one's I liked most and can remember are NFS Porsche and NFS Hot Pursuit 2. Just going through some of my old games and found NFS II SE minimum requirements Pentium 75mhz or higher Dos 5.0 or higher Windows 95.
