| 678279 | 2008-06-14 03:52:00 | I recommend using a bookmarklet to download the MP4 (H.264) version of YouTube videos (googlesystem.blogspot.com). Basically right-click the "Get YouTube Video" link midway down the linked article and "Bookmark This Link" or "Add to Favorites..." depending on browser.. When on the page of a YouTube video you want to download, click the bookmark/favorite you just made and a new "Download as MP4..." link should appear in the right column (see attachment below). | 678282 | 2008-06-14 04:52:00 | DownloadHelper's a really good firefox add-on. DownloadHelper can download video from any sites, not just Youtube. And also btw if you are watching the video online it means you've downloaded it. just access it from the temporary files folders. Good Luck! |

I've tried the "Keepvid" suggestion and it works with both the MP4 and FLV alternatives. I'm using VLC Media Player and Windows MP Classic (plus Win MP 11 point something) with Firefox and FreeDownload Manager and Win XP Pro SP 2 Next question is "How can I "grab" just a bit of the downloaded video clip?" 'cos Windows Movie Maker 2 doesn't recognise .MP4 or .FLV files Thanks again |
