678269 2008-06-14 01:56:00 Hi,

I have this program on my new laptop,SQL Server 2005, and was interested to know if I can uninstall it without any adverse effects on the OS, which is Vista.I only use my machine for my photography and the odd bit of surfing the net, so the likelyhood of me using this program is rather remote, (actually I dont even know what its used for), and I'd rather have the space it takes up for more photos.
Also, there seems to be a lot of Acer programs hogging space also, can I send these to the bin also, I have know idea what they do, apart from taking up space.

Thanks
Hook.

678270 2008-06-14 02:07:00 You can get rid of acer programs although if you ever do a recovery from the disks supplied they will be back. MySQL is a database that has something to do with SQL server I don't think I would remove it without someone else like Wainui or Wratterus confirming that you can gary67 (56)
678271 2008-06-14 06:53:00 You can try PC Decrapifier that removes bloatware that comes with all OEM laptops and PC's. Never tried it so create all your Restore Discs before cleaning it all up. beeswax34 (63)
678272 2008-06-14 11:01:00 You can boot it unless you have a program using it...
No idea what you have but if its basic vista and office and little else...
Then DELETE it.
mySQL is a different unrelated competitor product.

678273 2008-06-14 21:03:00 Its Vista Basic with office that I have, (doubt if I'll ever use that also).
Thanks for the help, I'll dump them and see what happens.

Thanks
Hook
