409824 2005-12-03 08:18:00 Hi,

My family wants me to come up to Palmerston North on Sunday for my brother's Judo tournament, but between a 2 hour drive there (fine) and a 2 hour drive back (fine) I'll have to be there for about 8 hours - and don't know how to pass the time. But my friend wants me to come to Church.

Is there anything interesting to do in Palmy for that amount of time on a Sunday morning/afternoon, or should I just stay at home? I don't want to go if I'll just be bored. I just can't decide and need to soon, because I'll have to get up at about 5am if I go.

Cheers
George

409825 2005-12-03 08:21:00 If it was me, I'd stay home. Palmeston is about the same as everywhere else in NZ on a Sunday. JJJJJ (528)

409827 2005-12-03 08:49:00 I lived in Palmy for 10 years - there's quite an interesting Science Centre in the middle of town (it's a peachy/orangy coloured building fairly close to the theatre), which had quite a lot of interesting things. Being a computer-person, you would probably enjoy it - they have lots of stuff you can play with.

Failing that... if you're a shopping person there are 2 shopping "malls" - though not very big - one is The Plaza, and the other one I can't remember the name of.

And if all else fails - there's always the movie theatre (which I believe is within the second shopping mall complex which I can't remember the name for).

Other than that, have fun. Enjoy cold, miserable, windy Palmy.

I feel like reading it.

Or sit in a bookshop somewhere and quietly read it.

409832 2005-12-04 05:26:00 I'm back. It was fine, but I'm wiped out now. I'm going to spend the next 4 hours doing practically nothing (ie, movies). george12 (7)
