409537 2005-12-03 00:02:00 Anyone else rather annoyed at the MediaOne Ads (the video ones) that pop up on your screen at certain nz websites. they really really getting on my nerves, anyone found a good way to block them? Tux (606)
409538 2005-12-03 00:56:00 Which site is it? Tried using another browser with ad blocking capabilities? E.g Firefox or Opera? bob_doe_nz (92)
409539 2005-12-03 02:16:00 Absolutely terrible those adverts. They should ask permission before using up the kind of traffic that they do. For some reason I haven't got around to blocking them out in this recent firefox install.

I think the domain that it comes from is acvs.mediaonenetwork.net you could either put that in your hosts file, or you could install FlashBlock (flashblock.mozdev.org) which will block all flash content and you'll be able to click on a flash logo to let the content download

edit:
There are other solutions as well that would work. But those two are probably your best bets for minimising on "stealing content" from websites.

409543 2005-12-03 08:15:00 Incredibly annoying, they soon caused me to install flashblock, adblock and god-knows-what-other block Dannz (1668)
409544 2005-12-03 21:56:00 For example - xtramsn.co.nz be a Windows thing because they don't popup in Safari or FireFox for Mac OS X. :) maccrazy (6741)
