410599 2005-12-07 03:11:00 Just to lighten things a little, I seem to remember Steve Race telling a story on his My Music program, when he was judging a talent competition. One of the contestants was a rather gormless girl, or was it a gormless boy, doesn't matter.

They sang "Let's Call The Whole Thing Off"....

You say eether, and I say eether,
You say neether, and I say neether,
Eether, eether, neether, neether,
Let's call the whole thing off.

........... and so on through the whole song.

410600 2005-12-07 03:38:00 Yes she can James, and neither you nor I could argue with her. :p

Just to make things a little harder, there are two different pronunciations for either and neither as well:
ee-ther and i-ther, nee-ther and ni-ther.

Your english is very good indeed, do you mind my asking how long you have been learning?

Cheers

Hi Billy. Thanks for your compliment! :p Yes, I am aware there are two types of pronunciation for both words "either" and "neither". I can still remember betting with my sister that "ee-ther" was the correct pronunciation; she counted on "i-ther" instead. It turned out that, after a check upon Oxford dictionary, that we were both correct. I have had learn English since I was young, frankly. However, I've still got much to learn.

Cheers :)

Seeing as everyone else is adding to their post count I thought I'd do so as well. Maybe i'll have enough shortly to be able to build a fence! :p
