2005-12-05 09:32:00 | Yeah, that's me. Couldn't POSSIBLY be buying it for my friends now could I? Well you did state in your opening post that you sensed a couple appearing on TradeMe with a CD. Who could you possibly be talking about other than yourself? It sounds like scalping to me. And this from a guy who can't resist whinging about TradeMe.....pfft. :groan:

2005-12-05 10:40:00 | Sorry, didn't realise you had superhuman powers and were able to see events occuring before they even had! Must come in handy with Lotto numbers, eh? As for whinging about Trademe, I hate the tax system in New Zealand but that doesn't stop me from paying taxes, does it? Case in point, people whinge on and on about Microsoft / Telecom, etc and still use their products and services . The reality is that you just can't get away from it . <snipped an overly provocative comment> You and I obviously disagree over this issue, and if you choose to judge me for it, that's your problem not mine . I don't even know you from a bar of soap! Lo .

2005-12-05 10:44:00 | take only what you need, dont be a prick lohsing, yes there is money to be made, but at the sake of true u2 fans missing out so you can pay off your little rice computer??? i actually got off my arse and got tickets, but screw you. my friends missed out so you can make a quick buck. | Tux (606) | |
2005-12-05 10:51:00 | Tux - I don't know you from a bar of soap, but I definitely don't need to "make a quick buck" so I can pay off my "little rice computer . " Before you go throwing your toys out of the cot, perhaps you might like to consider that a) Putting tickets on Trademe would be dumb . and b) There is a 2nd concert so your friends can line up to get tickets . Seriously - what makes someone a "true fan" . . . ? Is there a concise definition that rules me out of being a fan of U2? Lo .

2005-12-05 12:02:00 | Tux, that'll be 24 hours... there's no need to go nutty like that. It _is_ possible to have bought 5 tickets for yourself and close friends. I know one of my workmates purchased 12 tickets for other collegues. I know it might aggrivate you that people are selling them on trademe, but thats not the sorta thing you needa take out here No more pointing the finger people, think: Innocent until proven guilty! Chill.

2005-12-05 16:38:00 | People are mad. Anyone who pays $199 for a ticket to go and watch some long-haired yobs. But they are not as stupid as those paying even more ridiculous prices on Trade Me for tickets. By the way I presume U2 are long-haired yobs. I had never heard of them till this came uo.

2005-12-05 17:04:00 | Not long-haired yobs, Jack. U2 began as an Irish rock band (late 70s, I think) & by now could be called middle-aged & middle-of-the-road. They are greatly-loved by fans around the world. In fact, they are HUGE. You may have heard of their original spokesman, Bono..? He is/was into saving the world from starving - like Bob Geldhof. I know this sounds like sacrilege, but they might even have more search engine entries than the All Blacks. (I'm not brave enoigh to test that)

2005-12-05 18:42:00 | There are a lot of complaints about the people selling them on TM for lots of money but think: they wouldn't be selling them for lots of money if others weren't prepared to pay those prices. | pctek (84) | |

He used to be the "Sony" of Sony & Cher. I think she divorced him when she became famous. :) See I do know something. |

2005-12-05 19:31:00 | I saw the item on the news last night (the scalpers). Personally I think it sux... There are a lot of complaints about the people selling them on TM for lots of money but think: they wouldn't be selling them for lots of money if others weren't prepared to pay those prices. .. but then as said there are idots out there who will pay $1000 for a ticket. I also think TradeMe should stop lining there pockets bvy allowing these illegal (if you read the ticket it says they are not to be onsold) auctions. Bad form TradeMe I personally won't be going (would love to but don't have the money) but I know a few mates who have all the albums and would kill to go (though I think they are more sensible than to pay $1000). Maybe they will get tickets to the Wellington show.. yet to be sold
