410112 2005-12-11 08:14:00 To stop a plane such as the 737 in the prescribed distance it requires both reverse thruster and wheel brakes .


The spoilers do a pretty good job at slowing things down, in conjunction with lower flaps .

I thought the primary reason for the spoilers was to kill the lift on the wings so the plane stays on the ground. But I suppose the increased drag would also help slow things down.
