679472 2008-06-17 20:31:00 I've used Acronis True Image Home twice successfully in the last couple of months . I found that their help wasn't particularly prompt or useful, however, there is a 119 page user's guide that answers most things .

I didn't actually try the Secure Zone - I used the Emergency Boot Disc (comes with the download) to start from a CD while booting (in my case, the cd drive, not the DVD drive) - and proceeded from there, replacing my current C drive with the copy of C drive I had saved on an external HDD .

Good luck - I found it useful, but can't comment on Ghost . :)

679473 2008-06-17 22:16:00 Acronis - BUT I haven't found a way to do partition to partition cloning.

Ghost does that well.

The last True Ghost or Paragon.

679475 2008-06-18 05:53:00 Ghost 2003 is what I use - I think it's also the last one that actually worked before they turned it into a piece of crap Agent_24 (57)
679476 2008-06-18 07:10:00 Not very helpful Agent or PCtek since I can't buy either of those products only the newest versions. gary67 (56)
679477 2008-06-18 07:27:00 I use both Ghost on W2000 PC and Acronis on my XP machine, I find Ghost is a lot simpler, but they both seem to work fine. I like the incremental backup of a Acronis. porkster (6331)
679478 2008-06-18 07:35:00 Are these products limited to one computer, I'm often helping friends do stuff and so would like to be able to use on any machine. gary67 (56)
679479 2008-06-18 07:43:00 Ghost 2003 also comes with systemworks 2004 pro - so if you got yourself a copy of that 2nd hand you'd be fine...

Sorry I can't say anything about the new versions - except I don't think they are as good as the older ones.

Either way, I think the home versions are supposed to be used on only 1 PC (although they will work on as many as you like)

679480 2008-06-18 07:58:00 I use Acronis and whilst pretty good their help is rather slow and sporadic. When reading the forums a year or two ago, the consensus was the Ghost 2003 was really good. I would go for Acronis but failing that for Ghost 2003.
