| 680712 | 2008-06-21 06:04:00 | Pretty much anything will work fine for a switch/hub But data throughput won't be as fast for a home setup. eg; most cheap full-duplex switches have 200Mbit bandwidth divided by the amount of ports - whereas a more powerful version will have 200Mbit dedicated to each port - for a total throughput of several Gigabits... For sharing internet and basic use etc the cheapies are fine - but start getting into heavy file transfers from several PCs at once and you'll notice the speed is terrible |
