411974 2005-12-12 06:40:00 Hi Guys,

I’m coming over from the UK soon to set up shop so to speak. Rather than bring a limp PC over I was trying to cost up a new one when I arrive. I’ve been looking at www.ferrit.co.nz to guide me in terms of prices and places, but alternatively can anyone recommend who does the best deals in NZ?

QMB is a good wholesaler (but postage can be reasonably high)

Have a look around PriceSpy (http://www.pricespy.co.nz/) to give you some indication on what computer components will cost.

You looking to build it yourself or have it assembled for you? What area of New Zealand will you be living in?

The only place you need to look at Ascent Technology at www.ascent.co.nz
their service and support is absolutely first rate and their prices are competitive -- I have dealt with them on over 100 occasions and they have been fantastic to deal with every time.

411981 2005-12-12 19:24:00 I have found Playtech to be quite cheap. I havn't actually bought from them yet, so I don't know what they are like other than the pricing. Can anyone else comment on Playtech? mejobloggs (264)
411982 2005-12-12 20:36:00 C1 Shopping Mall (http://www.c1com.co.nz) I've used them a fair bit quite happily. (East Auckland). Greg (193)
411983 2005-12-12 22:03:00 I have used C1 Shopping Mall and Playtech recently. Also used QMB and Supercheap (can hear the gasps of horror already).

All have been very prompt with product delivery.

Playtech have been very good on the phone (cos they speak English which I fiond helpful being the only language I speak proficiently).

The only place I have had to return goods to is QMB. It took forever with no updates until I rang and enquired in pigeon English but a replacement turned up a few days after my phone call.

Basically I have been using Playtech this month cos they have free shipping which can be a killer to the overall price otherwise.

Until I have to return something to either C1, Playtech or Supercheap I can't comment on their after sales service.

Hope this helps.
