411797 2005-12-11 01:25:00 check out the article about buying games as presents at nintendo.about.com

"If your gamer has none of the titles on the lists, anywhere, then it’s possible they simply have no sense of taste, and you’re probably safe picking up almost any title at all; they might not be able to tell the difference."

It would appear that I have no sense of taste. What do you think of that games list?

411798 2005-12-11 01:53:00 for starters they wouldn be a true gamer because they are using something nintendo, ds etc. Tux (606)
411799 2005-12-11 03:25:00 True gamer?

I'll throw that into the idiot box containing all the true christians.

Has to be one of the retarded ideas on the internet, Linux users, gamers, Christians and dozens of others arging over whose "true" or not, and what exactly makes them "true"

411800 2005-12-11 03:32:00 Forgot the other one, Runs rampent on Heavy Metal boards, apperently there is something called a true metal head, It consists of the worst metal ever made, wearing studded wristbands and living the "metal" lifesyle.

The lifestyle as far as I can tell boils down to living with ya mum, having no job, and walking around the streets dressed like an angry transexual....

411801 2005-12-11 04:33:00 I thought it was funny.
His list was a bit lacking in FPS games but the idea is right.

He could also have added, for the rich, hardware. Nice shiny new graphics cards and things would go down well too.

Anyway Metla I have to side with Tux, yes, consoles are game only boxes but if it was only consoles the game industry would move a lot slower. Its that cycle, shiny new fast hardware = better graphics and physics in games = more hardware etc etc.
Have a look at the difference in a written for PC game and a ported from console to PC game. There is a noticable difference.

411803 2005-12-11 09:05:00 A physical paperback book which they have to read would be a nice touch :D bob_doe_nz (92)
411804 2005-12-11 10:09:00 a life  plod (107)
411805 2005-12-11 10:51:00 Most gamers that play a variety of genres (not just fps) would actually appreciate a decent book - Especially if it is related in some way to a game they like. Too bad hardbacks are so expensive - they are far superior to paperbacks. Greven (91)
411806 2005-12-11 19:24:00 I play games. I also read. A lot. I'd hate a game related book. pctek (84)
