2005-12-08 06:32:00 | after upgrading to 2mbit and not having all that much luck optimising my connection speed whilst downloading, I was wondering where other people download stuff from that enables them to optimise more of there connection speed. and by stuff i mean movies, songs, ISO's etc... anywaz any input would be great

2005-12-08 07:12:00 | I just got 2Mbit today and I've downloaded a couple of 720p HD movie trailers from Apple's website (www.apple.com) at the maximum possible speed. It really depends on the server though as many smaller sites are on oversold servers with limited bandwidth. :) | maccrazy (6741) | |
2005-12-08 07:56:00 | If the server your d/loading from, the weather, the state of the copper wire between you and the nearest exchange, your ADSL modem, and/or factors within your own network are not up to it, then a 2Mb/sec connection will quickly demonstrate to you the true meaning of "THERETICAL maximum". I'm not trying to be rude, but there is no program that you can get to bypass the bottleneck, UNLESS there is something WRONG with your setup, then and only then can tweaking at your end improve things, and even in that case, the solution is to make sure you are set up properly, not to add trojans. Who is your ISP, and what is your set up? What are you D/loading, or more importantantly, where from?

I'm much the same . 2 mbits is not much faster than 256 kb |

2005-12-08 08:15:00 | and by stuff i mean movies, songs, ISO's etc... You DO mean warez. Which has nothing to do with speed anyway. The only thing I download are updates, drivers and the odd game demo. And it can all depend on traffic, which server etc etc.
