New World has that stupid fly bys

Yeah, who cares about rewards you are there to shop not get rewards/free stuff/win prizes

411844 2005-12-12 19:31:00 Some rewards are good though and you don't have to do anything extra to get them. Foodtown/Woolworths have the OneCard which gives you extra discounts plus a couple times a year you get sent a voucher for a cash back to a certain sum depending on how much you spend over that period.

At the weekend I spent $70 at Foodtown, but my bill included a $40 savings from specials/OneCard purchases. Not a bad saving

Of course the OneCard serves like spyware, in return for the savings you get all your purchases recorded against your personal demographics and this is used in targetting products to certain customers and in other marketing uses.

411847 2005-12-12 23:56:00 You only spend $200 a fortnight???

I spend at least twice that... and there's usually only me, don't eat cakes/sweets/no booze/no 'ready made' meals.

I take it that you're really really slim!
Well theres only 2 humans and 3 animals.
And I don't buy meat - that gets bought wholesale every 4 months.
Fruit and veges are limted too as we have our own gardens and stuff.
No, not slim dammit.
Although sometimes I think I do shopping just for loo paper and cat food...hehe.
Oh and milk gets bought each day so cross that off too..

Thats probably why I used bogus information when I filled out my OneCard application. Bet the marketing dept is wondering why a 75 year old man buys so much moisturiser, trashy mags and feminine hygiene products.

What a great idea, I stopped using the online shopping at Woolworths because of their 'nosey tracking and profiling'. Maybe I will sign up as my dear dead dog... will really confuse them if he buys 5 dog rolls a week and bulk 'feminine hygiene' products. At least then they won't figure out that I am actually a 75 year old man :D

Well I sort of did that.
They have my name and address. But apparently I am 100 years old this year.
They kicked up a bit of a fuss over the incorrect other details but I pointed out that payment was made, the address for delivery was given therefore thats all they need.
And I'm quite happy with it so far. Beats walking around pushing a trolley.
