| 411446 | 2005-12-09 21:31:00 | Debt. No savings done in these here parts. I didn't even find out I had a black mark untill I got finance declined on a $20 000 car, I just put more deposit on it and drove it home..... lol! so basically it'd affect your "reputation" with companys but if you increase deposit or come back later on after making a savings history, the black mark is basically nothing? apart from a line on ur credit file? If thats the case I guess we could just leave it and get him 2 start a savings history, and In a way I'm kinda glad he cant get hps at the moment coz it'd get him 2 start saving lol! |

| 411447 | 2007-06-19 01:53:00 | The same thing happened to me, when I was a poor student I left a doctors bill of about thirty dollars too long and baycorp said to pay it within 7 days, I paid on the seventh day but they did not receive confirmation from the post shop until the next day, I have had no problems with hire purchase, morgage or anything like that but about 3 years ago I went to get a credit card so I could go overseas and they declined me due to my bad credit, I have to wait until next year before I can get a credit card, it makes life difficult I am a good person pay all my bills but because of one indecresion when I was at my poorest I am being punished for so long, I did ring up baycorps and they said that if I got the doctors to ring and clear my debt then they would clear my bad credit but my doctors said that that costs them money with baycorps, so you are dambed if you do and dambed if you don't, sorry to hear about your bro's situation. I was with baycorp as well ive paid all my debts waited five years still cant get credit anywhere else,But smiths city gave me another chance two months ago and i got a tv and dvd recorder on hp. This was lucky because i had got into debt with baycorp five years earlier and this time round smiths did a credit check with baycorp and saw that i had no more debts since 2003 and they said yes you can have an hp but to prove myself they demanded a $400 deposit as an upfront payment and to this day i havent missed any payments at all as i do not intend to go down baycorp road again ever. |

| 411454 | 2009-01-06 04:09:00 | We use Baycorp Advantage, on average about 2 companies a month. Our accountant has an account with them so we can ring up with the directors name before we start job to check them out. They usually collect outstanding money but it costs us 40%. We only do it so the director of the company gets a crap record which is forever on a secret list. As far as I am concerned people whose machines we fix and dont pay are absolute scum. We are a lot smarter than now than 10 years ago when we got taken to the cleaners on big jobs. We used a debt collector in New Lynn who sent around Islanders with a 100% success rate as you could imagine. But his fees were sometimes more than the job. |

| 411455 | 2009-01-06 04:31:00 | Well heres a little story from a few years ago about Baycorp. An acquaintance whom can fairly be described as a multi- millionaire owned a number of car yards and was experiencing an increase in the number of people defaulting on their payments. So, in order to protect his wealth he engaged Baycorp to Vet prospective purchasers. He couldnt believe it when every application came back rejected. So, being an inventive sod he whacked in an application with himself as purchaser. Wouldnt you know it, he failed. :D Well that got him doing the most intricate dance steps so he demands an explanation from Baycorp. Turns out he hadnt paid his TV license in the era when there was an argument as to the legality of having to pay one. They were eventually abandoned but the Black Mark remained. :D That was the end of Baycorp as he figured he would never sell another car if he relied on them. Oh, for those interested he is still in business and recently purchased another couple of Millions worth of property all without Baycorps help. :clap PS Didnt the original Baycorp go broke themselves? |
