I have banked with TSB Bank ever sibce I was a kid (cos I am a local) and have never ever paid bank fees. The only downer with them is internet banking is only possible between your own TSB Bank accounts - hence I am going ion to open a Kiwibank account just for internet banking externally.

I hate paying bank fees as do others but it seems that most people althought they hate it never get off their backsides to change banks.

I know other banks offer interest free packages if you have mortgages or huge savings accounts with them but for straight day to day bank accounts you can't go past TSB Bank or Kiwibank.

Just my 2c.

411403 2005-12-08 23:32:00 There are bank accounts around that don't charge you fees. E.g. I have a savings account and I get 1 free withdrawl a month.

Also for current accounts you can choose to have 10 free transactions a month and after that there are fees. You could just use them wisely and get out larger sums of cash to use.

411405 2005-12-09 00:57:00 Heh. Now we have moved all our accounts to PSIS we get lots of interest and NO fees at all. Not "monthly" fees, not transaction fees, not "we are charging you cause you want to withdraw some of your own money" fees. None. pctek (84)
411406 2005-12-09 01:14:00 I choose my words carefully, and that's right, you have work hard at it. :nerd:
I would have thought time did that, but there you are;I am wrong again.

That's just one way Cic.

There are some that have to work and slave away until the bitter end when the government will give you something. Though I have to say that Richardson and Shipley would sooner have had us all keel over before they were forced to grudgingly hand out, and, they nearly succeeded. :)

But then there are those of us fortunate enough and prudent enough to be able to decide for ourselves what retirement age should be.

Edit: it's called market forces.

411408 2005-12-09 02:45:00 My Bank Account has a flat fee - Fees over that amount are credited back.
No fees in on My Savings account - different suffix.

Interest earned on the balances on both accounts (the savings account has a higher rate)

411409 2005-12-09 03:03:00 The best way to minimise bank fees is to achieve retirement age and have your pension paid in.

Dead right!!!
I enjoy paying my bank fees. Nothing,Zilch, Zero.

411410 2005-12-09 03:05:00 [QUOTE=Eric Richards]Here is something you people should take notice, and you should look at your bank if you have multiple accounts and if any good ideas come from this thread I will follow it up .

At the moment I have three accounts with the same bank,
(1) Credit card, I don't take it with me when I go shopping came in handy early this year when I went to the dentist .

If your dentist is like mine you would want three credit cards to pay him .
