| 413963 | 2005-12-19 20:20:00 | Looking for a new graphics card guys, Should I get a 6800GT or is it more economical to get a 6600GT? Any recomendations? Wat's equal in terms of XT and GT... i.e. 6600GT equal to a 6800XT? |

| 413970 | 2005-12-20 02:07:00 | The 6600GT is supposed to be 'good bang for your buck' (note I didn't say best bang!), you can spend money endlessly on video cards and unless you're a hard core gamer it ain't gonna make much difference. The AGP cards are more expensive than PCI-e, but then you're looking at adding in the cost of a new motherboard if you don't already have PCI-e capable one. | Shortcircuit (1666) | ||

As I said above you had better hurry up and buy your AGP card as they are becoming scarce. I was looking for a AGP FX 6600 GT 256mb card the other day for a friend and only found one in NZ. Found about 6 128mb ones. Friend ended up buying the 128mb one. Trevor :) |

| 413972 | 2005-12-20 18:43:00 | I would second the 6800GT/GS minimum, the 6600GT is not keeping up with games like F.E.A.R now at decent resolutions little own future games. If you are building a new machine I would suggest Nvidia 7800GT as they are reasonably priced (overseas) so consider bringing it in yourself. Prices are dropping here in NZ a bit but it is slow I have recently noticed. |
