413668 2005-12-18 09:35:00 This P200mmx is runing Red Hat 7.3. Once I got rid of most of the software I don't use I find it runs surprisingly well. WindowMaker is my default desktop with different workspaces assigned to specific tasks. OK it's an old distro but the Fedora Legacy project takes care of securit updates. Just for fun I installed SuSE 10 on a spare hdd, 9 hours to install ;) but it managed ok and one reboot to a "usable" system. I'm staying with RH7.3 though because I've gotten to know it quite well. Had RH 8 on it a while back but some things you had to jump though hoops to get some functions going, which on RH 7.3 where quite trivial. I havent had much problems at all running later software such as Opera or Mozilla on this box either. It's networked to the last version of MS Windows I'll ever get quite happily, sharing internet connections and files etc.

Just downloaded and run DSL this morning and that distro has advanced quite a bit since I last used it. I havent had much problems at all running later software such as Opera or Mozilla on this box. It's networked to the last version of Windows I'll ever get quite happily, sharing internet connections and files etc.

I must admit apart from the CLI its quite a nifty OS. RAM usage is a little high though :xmouth:
