413315 2005-12-17 03:53:00 I really enjoyed my C>64's and the C>128 . I still have 4 external HDDS (were there any other kind?) and a few extra power supplies too . . . . Oh, and I have a lot of cartridges and those huge floppies with things like "Raid on Bungling Bay" and "Rescue on Fractulus" and "Forbidden Forest" and a cassette! I even have an old Vic-20 too!

Anyone remember this?

10) Open15,8,15,for t=1to120; get L
20) ?"Insert Disk"; Read 15,8,15; goto30
30) Close15,8,15,for t=1to120; next t
40) return
11) if "L"=0, then goto 20
12) if "L"=1, then goto50; next t
50) ?"Thanks"; next t
70) If "L">0 or=1 then ?"What are you waiting for?"; next t
80) ?Chr$127;end

(I think that's right)

hahahahahah . . . wasn't that a disc boot routine? Remember how you hadda leave some room between the numbered lines so you could insert some extra code like lines 11 and 12? . . . it would collate and auto-sequence itself .

413320 2005-12-18 02:25:00 I owned a Commodore 16,64 then Amiga (actually VZ100 first) and they were light years ahead of PC at the time. But enthusiasts have been trying to revive it for years including a new OS and design etc. The reality is, if it does ever reappear it will only be the name, the hardware purposed a year or so ago was basically just a PC where to be true to itself they should be basing it closer to Mac architecture.

Not really excited, I put it right up there with the release of "Duke Nuken forever", never going to happen.

413321 2005-12-18 02:54:00 If I am not mistaken, I think the original (US, anyway) OPSYS was PET or CPM ( or was it CBM?).

I remember the defaults were all along the PET 40-40 architecture, with the "save with replace" bug really a toggle from first the "0" drive then the next time the "1" drive....it made a lot of people mad when they saved a file half the time to a non-existant default...hahahahah.
