| 413883 | 2005-12-22 01:33:00 | I use Skype regularly to talk to people in Australia, Canada, USA & the UK. I use the computer -> computer feature for conversation but I do know others who use the account option to call from computer to telephone. The clarity of call is extremely good and seemingly better than telephone .... seems the person is only in the room next door. I havent used the 'conference' option yet but intend to do so shortly. The feedback I have had from others who have used this feature is good. I use broadband connection (as do the people I communicate with) so have not had any issues with voice lag though I understand if you use dialup then voice lag can be a problem. I only turn Skype on when I go on the internet and close it when I have finished using it. |

| 413885 | 2005-12-22 11:39:00 | I paid my $10US to top up SkypeOut, and the latency is slightly annoying. There is a one second or so gap between speaking and the other person hearing it. | george12 (7) | ||

Are you or them on dailup or you both on broadband?. Just curious. Trying to get my old man to use it but he keeps stalling. He's only on dailup and running windows me. He lives in oz now so if it'll work it'll save on toll calls. Brian. |

I only turn Skype on when I go on the internet and close it when I have finished using it. I used Skype regularly to talk to No 1 son in UK. Essentially no problems apart from rare difficulty. I used ADSL 256/128 and he used dial-up. I don't hesitate to recommend - you can't beat the cost !!!!! Misty  |
