681437 2008-06-27 02:07:00 Guess you can't... but you can still open the enclosure and check the hard drive is plugged in correctly inside

If that doesn't fix it then take it to a friend or someone with a desktop I guess

681438 2008-06-27 02:34:00 OK. What specific thing will I look for. Which could be possibly screwing the harddrive up? Firzen001 (11302)
681439 2008-06-27 04:36:00 You can get Seatools to test your Seagate HDD:

www.seagate.com/support/seatools/

681440 2008-06-30 01:02:00 Tried That. It doesn't recognize the Harddrive, it recognizes my main one but not the external. It even says there are 2 devices connected.
What up with that?

681441 2008-06-30 01:43:00 Maybe it can detect it's there but can't access it properly. if it was eSata that makes sense but USB I don't know. There's nothing more you can really do with this drive and your laptop

At some point you're going to have to find a desktop and plug the drive directly in - or this is just going to go around in circles.

Or you could get one of these www.trademe.co.nz and use that, or get another external case.

But obviously just testing the drive directly in a desktop PC is going to be the cheapest option

681443 2008-06-30 03:54:00 If you haven't already, try removing the hard drive from the exernal case and then reconnecting it. Might be a loose connection somewhere Agent_24 (57)
