| 681119 | 2008-06-23 22:54:00 | sorry bout the fullstop comment, but your first post was a bit confusing. Some heatsinks, mostly for AMD these days, have a recessed out piece on the bottom that has to go on the correct side to miss the raised part of the cpu socket. Otherwise it probably bdoesn't matter which way round they go. The bios fan control is kinda what I was meaning when I referred to windows slowing down the fans (Doh!). If they are running slow the system thinks your cpu is not running hot, almost seems like the speed control is working in reverse but you've disabled it anyway so no problem. |
