Just ignore them. I can't see too much wrong with someone letting you know that your starting price is too high though.

There are quite a number of buyers on Trade Me who really try to get the ultimate bargin out there. They will lurk on auctions and try to get you to relist next time at a much lower price.

Try not to figure out the mental state of Trade Me users, you will just go crazy yourself :2cents:

Honestly, who in their right mind is going to 'risk' buying sight unseen from an "anonymous" seller on Trade Me when they can to an established e-commerce website or buy the item in a physical store for less/or the same amount.

414254 2005-12-21 00:46:00 Even with smilies, that is not particularly pleasant, Rob. You might talk like that to a good friend, face to face. To a stranger, you might find that the stranger has a big brother, or some very big friends. So why do it electronically?

But ninjabear, it's simplest to just ignore such offensively phrased comments. It's the only way. On PressF1, you have a useful option to ignore all of an individual's postings. ;)

(However, I would not even bid on something so close to retail price, even if it was offered "freight free". Absence of my bid would silently express my opinion. :) )

But then no one knows your opinion.

So?

If a lot has a "next bid" higher than I am prepared to pay I just go past it. I'm not going to complain that it's too much. It doesn't matter. If I see someone bidding ricicululous sums, I just go past it. Let them.

Life is too short ...
