and cos i'd have to use wireless gear (power phase differenc between houses etc) it could get pritty expensive...

and you seem to be protecting telecom? i think.. i'm a bit tired, so drunkeness is an issue...

Why protect them? They have failed the country as an infrastructure provider... dropouts, coverage problems (don't give me that geographical situation bullcrap), extraneous rates, tight data caps, speed restrictions...

It's about time they got the outski's... don't worry about the sharemarket, unless you have shares in bell atlantic and the other company (i forget which)...

and cos i'd have to use wireless gear (power phase differenc between houses etc) it could get pritty expensive...If you were running an audio feed then the "power phase differenc between houses etc" would be a problem .. Earth loops involving audio cables can be a problem within a single building when linking audio, however i am yet to experiance or even hear of problems with Cat5 data links, i assume that there is optical isolation, allthough i could be wrong.

Why protect them? I'm trying not to take sides, but to look at the issues... Telecoms network isn't up to scratch, that's why they are rebuilding it, so what's the point of bleating that your to far from the exchange to get DSL when these issues have been taken on board, and are being dealt with in a nationwide upgrade?

It reminds me of an ex girlfriend who fanaticly bitched at me that it was my turn to do the dishes with such single mindedness that she ignored the fact that i was filling the kitchen sink with hot water before she even started nagging.

Issues with the lack of upgrades on telecoms network are redundant.

However, issues with their ethics... well, thats another story alltogether!
