681202 2008-06-22 23:44:00 Have always had probs with AVI files on this computer – (can work with them in Pinnacle Studio ok) but Windows Explorer freezes or shuts when open any folders containing an AVI file.
Any easy fixes?!
Many thanks

681203 2008-06-22 23:54:00 Sounds like something maybe corrupted.

Look in event viewer (if you use XP) for the time of the crash. Under application/system, on the left. Double click on the X entries.

See if it points to the name of a file. Or click on the window that appears when it crashes (the little box on the bottom right I think). See if it shows a name of a file

681207 2008-06-23 00:14:00 That looks like it

This is probably crashing it

Faulting application drwtsn32.exe, version 5.1.2600.0, faulting module dbghelp.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, fault address 0x0001295d.

That file I've underlined. This looks like a windows file

Have you scanned your system recently for viruses etc?

Go to start/run, type sfc /scannow, put the XP / Windows CD in.

Have you installed any service packs?
