414241 2005-12-20 12:10:00 I have a question

Im not sure what other people think but i wonder what other people's view on this

As you may know alot of people sell and bid at trademe.Have you ever as a seller received a comment on one of your auction stating your price is set too high or a nasty comment saying .... is selling at $$.. and your price is so high who the #@!! would wanna buy on your auction?

One of my auction was a sony ericsson z520i that was selling at $399 at vodafone and i put it up at $400.The guy was complaining that vodafone was selling much cheaper .The price difference was only $1 and he has the right not to bid on my auction.it's a bit pathetic really to argue the $1 difference

Do you think its uncivilise to yell at auctions stating that their price is too high? They can always buy some where else. Its a free trade.

The response Im getting from people in new zealand is that if the price is set too high they yell at you.

Im not being racist or anything but i just want to know if you feel that it is right to yell at people's auction ?

Someone was selling xbox 360 at $1000 and was bombarded of nasty comments.

What are your views?

414245 2005-12-20 16:47:00 A lot of people selling at auction have an over-inflated idea of what they are selling is worth.
That doesn't give potential buyers the right to shout at, and abuse the seller.
Those doing the shouting are probably looking for something for nothing anyway.

414246 2005-12-20 18:00:00 My personal m.o.. if its too highly priced they can get stuffed lol.. I just don't bid. But I don't yell at them Myth (110)
414247 2005-12-20 18:10:00 You do know that if you don't answer their comment it won't show up.
Let them rant, they don't have to buy it if they think its too much.

414248 2005-12-20 18:40:00 Yeah, what pctek said. That's the reason that questions don't show unless they're answered - it used to be that all questions would show whether answered or not, and it seemed that people were trying to deliberately sabotage competing auctions. Let them whinge, and just don't answer the question. pixeldust (6619)
414249 2005-12-20 19:19:00 Perhaps they're trying to do some kind of public service by letting other buyers beware that they could get it cheaper somewhere else.

It's a little sad though that you (or anyone) can get so wound up about TradeMe.

414250 2005-12-20 20:57:00 It is the internet so all sorts can go there, it is a shame that a few will spoil for it for the majority but that is life in general really. If you think about the antics that occur here from time to time it is little wonder that something as big as trademe would attract that sort of behaviour. I agree with others here, just ignore the questions if they are stupid or disruptive. If it is overpriced then the market will decide.

Have to agree with ninja, not worth worrying about really.
