Dell say "We take your gaming experience as seriously as you do". What a joke.

414697 2005-12-20 00:33:00 Surely you don't believe what adverisers say? JJJJJ (528)
414698 2005-12-20 00:40:00 don't forget that gamers are a minority consumer group and any hardcore gamer would not be seen dea with a dell ! tweak'e (69)

Even a very lowcore gamer would not be seen dead with one.

414700 2005-12-20 01:17:00 What a joke. So why aren't you laughing? Game players seem to take themselves seriously. Graham L (2)
414701 2005-12-20 01:35:00 Well the hardware in it isn't terrible. Its what I would call OK, not brilliant.
Then again who knows what BRANDS they have used???

The software problems they are going on about doesn't surprise me at all.
But the Dell isn't for Gamers - no serious gamer would have an off-the-shelf PC, they always like to specify each part.
This would be what mum buys so the kids can play their games as well as her doing her email...
And I loathe them all...Dell, Compaq and especially HP.

414702 2005-12-20 01:43:00 Thats a good review, they are trying hard NOT to just rubbish the system yet they are continully pushed down that road.

Well worth a read, It covers exactly the same dribble I have been going on about on these forums for years.

If you have purchased a biig brand gaming machine then you have been sucked in, Just look at the piles of s**t the so called Home of Gaming are selling for 2 grand at the moment, Office machines with an X300 video card.

A disgrace to the industry.

Why "loathe". You don't want their products, and would rather assemble your own? Fine.

But that mum wants to be able to get her email, without worrying whether the video card is overheating, ot whether the CPU "needs" water cooling. She wants a computer which can be plugged in and work at a reasonable price.

The more such mums buy the PC products of companies like Dell, Compaq, and HP the happier you should be. Their competition serves a mass market. That mass market allows you to buy the components you want. If the mass market wasn't there the parts you want would cost a lot more.

414704 2005-12-20 01:59:00 Grahem, I suggest you read the article, and just because someone has low requirments doesn't mean they should be fed ****. Metla (12)
414705 2005-12-20 02:22:00 Ha ha, maybe Dell have beefed up their power supplies . :yuck:

Anyway, Dell still insist on using Intel so that shows you how "commited" to gaming they are :waughh:
