682786 2008-06-27 00:37:00 Hi all. :D

Just wondering what the consensus is on the best PDF viewing software. I still use Adobe Reader, don't find it too bloaty. Do other pdf viewers allow you to view pdf files in a web browser like Adobe does?

What does everyone else use?

682787 2008-06-27 00:48:00 Foxit reader (www.foxitsoftware.com)

Will do the same as Adobe reader, and its a lot smaller

Altho, at the mo, I'm using Nitro PDF Pro (its not free), so I can merge my docs and secure them

682788 2008-06-27 00:50:00 Foxit FTW - just started using it a few weeks back and it's SO much quicker. Quite why an Acrobat Reader 8 install is bigger than many Antivirus suites is completely beyond me.

And yes, Foxit integrates fine into IE7 and FF3

And Opera. Any PDF reader will work fine in a browser. Any of them will also give you the option to save the PDF file

682790 2008-06-27 01:08:00 Foxit is fast but crashes on me when trying to print a 80+ page PDF( its ok printing small pdfs)
I use foxit for reading, Adobe reader for multipage printing

off topic (sort of)
there's also programs will will open password protected pdfs (so security issues there i guess)
MS have a free add-on for Office 2007 so you can send to email as pdf attatchment (or save as pdf), quite usefull.

Ditto, nothing beats Foxit and it integrates seamlessly.

682795 2008-06-27 05:28:00 I am a changed man. I though Safari was completely useless. I was very wrong.

;)

Unfortunately it will take a little more than a built in PDF reader to get me to use it..
