682608 2008-06-26 07:24:00 Hi all
I just bought a Hauppauge WinTV DVB-T Tuner HVR-1200 PCI-E x1 TV tuner and am trying to get it to work with freeview, i have tried the WinTV program that came with it and it finds normal analogue tv but no digital or freeview, i have also tried mediaportal and it asks for "Please spicify the ip adress or host name of the master TV service" :illogical ????? If anyone knows how i can get this to work or has any ideas they are all welcome.
Thanks

682612 2008-06-26 19:56:00 Search this forum for Freeview
There are several in depth threads on it.

Go onto the Mediaportal Forum and Search for the New Zealand thread, it is huge and offers a heap of good into.

Go onto the Hauppauge Forum also good info there.

WinTV is next to useless.
MediaPortal normally works fine with Hauppauge cards.
Have you installed the Drivers for your Card?
When installing MediaPortal did you install Server, Client, and MSSQL Server?

682613 2008-06-26 23:04:00 I have one of these as well and it works fine. I use DVBViewer which cost me $30 and needs power DVD 7 ultra or better installed for the codecs.

I couldn't get GB-PVR to recognise this card and found media portal too difficult to set up. I did manage to get media portal working with my other tuner ( HVR-900 usb )

there is a guide on pcworld blogs.pcworld.co.nz which works ok with this tuner as well. Or as someone said head over to the geekzone forums and read up.
