682535 2008-06-26 03:32:00 Hey,

The story is:
A client has a machine running Windows 2000 Pro that had two 17" CRTs running on it at 1024x768 on each one.
One of these 17" CRTs died so they decided to replace both with a big LCD.
I put in a ViewSonic VX2640W 26" which runs at 1920x1200.
Everything works great except now DVDs won't play.
Nero Showtime comes up with an error:

'Nero Show Time was unable to start playing the selected video.
Please close all other applications that are playing back video or are in the pause mode and try again.'

They have some other DVD software that also won't play DVDs.

They can however manually play a vob file from the DVD and it will play fine.

Anybody got any ideas?

682536 2008-06-26 03:36:00 Installed K-Lite (www.free-codecs.com) and used WMP, or tried VLC (www.videolan.org)?

I always seem to have problems with show time, it's a hopeless DVD playing software at the best of times.

It's just an onboard intel but has a core 2 duo CPU.
It was working fine until we put the new LCD monitor on yesterday.

682539 2008-06-26 04:36:00 Yeah, Nero probably saw a vertical resolution with more than 3 numbers and packed a sad.

Try VLC.
