Well obviously not.
SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL):No,

Not sure that send.xtra.co.nz needs to be secure SMTP anyway.
If you try smtp.xtra.co.nz that doesn't have to be secure SMTP to work

Does this person have an Xtra connection to the internet, broadband or diaup.
If he is with another ISP but has an Xtra email address that is another issue.

682230 2008-06-25 05:01:00 Just out of interest, is your mate running Vista? Cause I just had a case of this last week, where someone set up a new PC on Vista Business with Office 2007 . . . old xtra account that had worked on a previous machine (XP/Office 2003) sweet as, but was failing on this new machine in much the same way as yours . . . . . We made all the changes that Xtra suggested, but it didn't go until we installed SP1 - still not too sure why that made it work, but it did! nofam (9009)
682231 2008-06-25 05:02:00 You have a mixture of new and old settings.

These settings should work:

NO SSL on any server.

POP3: pop3.xtra.co.nz - port 110
SMTP: smtp.xtra.co.nz - port 25 Make sure it's not smpt as Cic said. ;)

Make sure SSL is off, and the 'my outgoing server requires authentication' is NOT ticked.

It may pay to re-type username and password as well.

He is with xtra.

So you think answer is in the settings?
