I don't presume to judge what was in The End of Reality's mind, but when this thread started I hoped to read some pithy/entertaining sayings I'd either not heard before, or not for a long time. And yes, there've been some I enjoyed. Some posts wandered well off the point. I enjoyed those also. It's that kind of thread... But favourite & "commonly-used" aren't the same thing at all. The thread's becoming merely a list of expressions in general use. I'm old-fashioned. I don't believe that " Screw you guys" & similar comments are actual "favourites" for more than the minute it takes to say them. And before someone complains about my assessment - I admit I'm old-fashioned about language. I think it's important. You don't have to agree with me - just remember the original post asked also for a motto. And that's a different way of looking at things - like permanency rather than this week. P.S. Sounds a bit stuffy when I look at it. Tuff!!! |
