You could install Comodo firewall if you want a firewall, although it isn't completely necessary. NOD does basic spyware protection. SUPERAnti Spyware is good for catching spyware, and it doesn't have to run all the time.

Java is a programming language, often online games use it, Limewire and Open Office are two examples of software that uses Java.

Dump AdAware, that's poop and it slows your PC down. SUPERAnti Spyware free is good.

Did you see my last post on the previous page?

BUT, if Utorrent or a P2P program is installed, thats a different story :D

You MAY need a firewall

682934 2008-06-27 04:57:00 It was after rebooting, it seems to be faster and I can enjoy being on the pc again, I will uninstall the ad aware, did you see anything else in my hijack that was fishy? mark1978 (13845)

The rest of it looks OK to me. Is Spyware Doctor fully up to date? I think recently it's changed, you have to pay for it now. Maybe replace that with SUPERAnti Spyware, I know Super is lighter on the system.

Spybot Search and Destroy (make sure you don't install the SD Helper or Tea Timer with it, untick those options during the install) is good for removing spyware too, and doesn't slow the PC down (as long as you don't install SD Helper or Tea timer)

Sweet as, no worries at all mate.

You don't have a HP or Compaq PC with an AMD processor? As long as your PC doesn't meet those criteria, you'll be fine installing SP3. There's a driver that HP uses related to AMD processors and seems to cause issues with installing SP3.

I have Sp3 installed and like it.

682938 2008-06-27 06:01:00 I will install SP3 as well, I dont have those brands so I am safe!

Is there another way I could post some logs so you can see if there is anything wrong with it?
