683034 2008-06-29 02:04:00 Just a heads up or down ;) Sarel supplied the user name and password & address, The log in page came up fine - I tried to log in with all the different options available - it simply came back with Page not Displayed (www.imagef1.net.nz) error, tried on FF, Opera, and IE - no luck :crying So going by that - it appears to be a server problem at the school. wainuitech (129)
683035 2008-06-29 02:35:00 Okay - Progress - update to the update :waughh: Tried a different address Sarel suggested, and straight in - so looks like it maybe a router problem after all. wainuitech (129)
683036 2008-06-29 20:45:00 Wainuitech - I can also go in from work, so it is a router/modem problem I think (the only common thing between the two comps.) I looked through the router settings last night, but me being a bit "router-stupid" I did not really know what I was looking for.

Is there any way of printing off the router settings - similar to a Hijackthis report/log - to show you guys the settings so that one can possibly check what needs to be changed?

683037 2008-06-29 20:51:00 I also know it's not the FW (Comodo), Spybot, SuperSpywClnr and Nod32 because I uninstalled them all and reinstalled again after finding that the same problem exists throughout. At one stage I had no AV/AntiSpyw on the PC - for about an hour - but a subsequent check showed no problems.

683038 2008-06-29 22:02:00 Sometimes the settings can get altered and make problem awkward to locate.

Open the router settings,Go to your browser, type in http://10.1.1.1 ( routers address) default user name and password is admin / admin Click on the Advanced Tab up top, then on the left, scroll down till you locate the Firewall Button, make sure DOS and Port Scan Protection are disabled (default settings).

There has been several times I have had problems with this make of router ( D-Link) with various connection problems and even though all the settings look right, somethings don't work, if the above doesn't work you can always reset the router back to factory defaults.

Make sure you write down your user name and know what your password is - you can find the user name from the Home Tab / WAN Shown Here (www.imagef1.net.nz).

Then on the right hand side near the front See here (www.imagef1.net.nz) with a ball point pen or paper clip, press the button in for a few seconds and the router will reboot back to default settings, you then enter the router configuration and reenter your user name and password, and reset up the wireless ( security etc)

683039 2008-06-29 22:28:00 Thanks Wainuitech - will do it over lunchtime or tonight. Don't worry, I used to check my previous modem daily (due to disconnects) and I am very familiar with the basics - rebooting, resetting, and checking logs to see the reason for a disconnect. Will report back.

If I am not mistaken (I am talking here under correction) I remember faintly (from checking everything last night) that those two settings are Enabled but I may be wrong. Will do the Disable thing if needed.

683040 2008-06-30 02:10:00 OK. The two items were enabled so they are now disabled and lo and behold, I can get access through the /Exchange bit Wainuitech. Two small problems still - can't open an email yet - I see all of them but clicking on them just take me to the same Inbox page. I don't know whether SWMBO's lappie will have the same problem though. Will only know tonight.

Also, if I click on anything on any router page, I get the message :
To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier.

Resend Cancel

If you press cancel you get to the page you want to get to - perhaps an FF setting somewhere?

683041 2008-06-30 02:21:00 Being that you are accessing a MS Exchange server it would be best to use Internet Explorer.
I have had problems in the past with Firefox accessing the OWA.

I have had problems in the past with Firefox accessing the OWA. Yep! try IE - as good as FF is, some things still require IE.

At least its letting you in  Yesterday when provided with the user name and password - I didn't open any thing, but did manage to see what was there, as per the screen shot in the PM.
