In out going mail SMPT is shows send.xtra.co.nz

Is that right setting and what else can you suggest.
Thanks lads.

682234 2008-06-25 05:07:00 Try smtp.xtra.co.nz instead of send.xtra.co.nz see what happens

But yup have you been typing in smpt or smtp?

It'll make a diff

682235 2008-06-25 05:12:00 Just out of interest, is your mate running Vista? Cause I just had a case of this last week, where someone set up a new PC on Vista Business with Office 2007 . . . old xtra account that had worked on a previous machine (XP/Office 2003) sweet as, but was failing on this new machine in much the same way as yours . . . . . We made all the changes that Xtra suggested, but it didn't go until we installed SP1 - still not too sure why that made it work, but it did!
No Nof,he is has XP .

682237 2008-06-25 05:30:00 You have a mixture of new and old settings.

These settings should work:

NO SSL on any server.

POP3: pop3.xtra.co.nz - port 110
SMTP: smtp.xtra.co.nz - port 25 Make sure it's not smpt as Cic said. ;)

Make sure SSL is off, and the 'my outgoing server requires authentication' is NOT ticked.

It may pay to re-type username and password as well.
Thanks Wrato,problem solved.

Must have hit ctrl instead of shift.

Glad to hear you got it sorted.

Just in case you misunderstood Speedy, that was saying your blood is worth bottling and was meant a compliment to your ability to help unfortunates such as me,may your rule long continue and prosper.
