| 414899 | 2005-12-23 10:15:00 | I put a sticky label on my smoke alarm and enter the date on which the battery was inserted. I can see it from floor level without the need for a ladder. I use a pencil and just rub it out to alter the date. The label doesn't get sticky and it doesn't dry out and fall off either. I have often thought that it would be nice to have a remote battery that is mounted in a position on the wall, high enough to service and yet out of reach of young children. It could be mounted in a small box, perhaps over a door surround, with a place for a label to write down the date of installation and with room for a few spare labels and a small pencil. The wiring could look a bit unsightly though. Also I guess there would be enough resistance in the longer wiring to shorten the battery life compared to normal installation. It would probably help those with high ceilings, the elderly, or those who just can't do things like change smoke alarm batteries that require a ladder to do it. |

Isidore of Seville see here (www.scborromeo.org) the last paragraph explains why someone who died 1400 years ago, is suitable for the 'incredibly ancient' science of computing and the internet which began in the latter stages of the last millenia Did you know someone invented a blender phone? Kind of handy when the mother in law rings see here (www.cycoactive.com) This one is bound to get a few comments along the lines of " how little the companys products have changes" Did you know One of Hewlett Packards first Products was an automatic urinal flusher Did you know Astronauts cannot burp in space. There is no gravity to separate liquid from gas in their stomachs |

Pop the honey in the microwave for 30 seconds or whatever, it will still be soft after the honey cools down. Whilst a good idea in theory that is actually not recommended. See here (www.honeyshop.co.uk): Microwaves are considered taboo for heating honey even on the defrost setting because of the lack of control and after heating effect i.e. the honey continues to heat up after the oven has switched off and you will find that honey in jars will caramelise around the top. Any heating of honey will reduce its aroma and flavour and in time darken the honey. Heating honey above 50C (120F) will damage its food value. This is because the diastase or enzymes put into the honey by the gathering and storing bees is destroyed within a few hours at 50C. |

| 414905 | 2006-01-04 01:10:00 | ... There is no gravity to separate liquid from gas in their stomachs There is gravity in space. As far as you can imagine (or even further if you havn't got much imagination), Newton's F=G.m1.m2/D^2 applies. But in a state of free fall, (that is, with no engines being used) everything falls in the same way. Galileo said that. And he didn't have a vacuum to do the experiment in. He worked it out by thinking. |

| 414907 | 2006-01-04 03:08:00 | Yes there is slight difference to popping it in the microwave for a few seconds & boiling the crap out of it. I should of got out my thermometer, I will next time and get a "few seconds in the microwave" that does not go over 50°c. But that is good FoxyMX you have done the homework. |
