681907 2008-06-24 21:10:00 Try going to comodos site, download the latest version, and then uninstall the current one, then install the new one. wainuitech (129)
681908 2008-06-24 21:18:00 Thanks Wainui. Damn, I hoped to get away with not doing that. SWMBO went nuts when I first installed it as she got sick of clicking ok multiple zillion times as the program was learning. Colpol (444)
681909 2008-06-24 21:35:00 From looking at the Comodo forums this (forums.comodo.com) may fix your problem. autechre (266)
681910 2008-06-24 22:26:00 Why update a firewall anyway? pctek (84)
681911 2008-06-24 23:05:00 Just a thought -if you have nod32, disable it before doing that update - I have had Nod kill the download twice now, much like Zone alarm was, detecting something while installing as a bud, ad block or something along those lines. wainuitech (129)

Because they release ... updates for it? For better stability, security and new features...

Why wouldn't you update? :illogical

681913 2008-06-25 03:29:00 And depending on WHICH firewall.

I think previous versions of Comodo crashed. So, if you didnt update, you'll be seeing nothing else but crashes

Because a firewall is just that - a firewall. Not an anti-malware where you need definitions etc.

They just want you to get new versions because..........not because suddenly they thought of something that didn't exist before.

Hey I've tested my very, very old firewall heaps of times and it still checks out perfect. So what would I be missing?

681915 2008-06-25 06:39:00 Well in the case of a paid firewall there is probably not much point except to get more money off you.

But as Comodo is free, and they are always releasing new versions it makes sense to install the updates

personalfirewall.comodo.com gives a lot of reasons why you'd want to update
