| 416181 | 2005-12-28 06:12:00 | The latest PC Authority Mag CD has "NovaPDF Printer Lite" software free, on-line registration is all thats needed. Seems to work well for creation of non-protected PDF files. It installs as an extra "printer", so is straightforward to use for those that have an occasional need for printing any type of document as a PDF. |

| 416182 | 2005-12-28 10:36:00 | Are non-protected PDF files used much? I had sort of assumed people used PDFs in order to lock the information and format so it couldn't be tampered with. | Winston001 (3612) | ||
| 416183 | 2005-12-28 10:47:00 | Actually PDF's were made as a sort of WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) document format so that people would be able to send PDF's and know that they would print the same on ANY printer. This is the reason why a lot of PDF makers install spoof printers. A freeware application which does the same job and requires no registration is PDF Creator, available on sourceforge HERE (sector7g.wurzel6.de) |
