683505 2008-06-29 03:48:00 Hi Guys

Is there anyway to make Firefox and/or IE ask for a password when it opens so that internet usage is retricted?

Preferably free I've found a few programs that would work but cost.

Cheers

Edit: Would have to be capable of still allowing network traffic as users would be saving data to a NAS device.

683506 2008-06-29 04:02:00 In IE Tools/Internet options/Content tab/Content adviser/ enable - set the setting to what you want, I have had several people ask to password protect IE needing a password to access sites - lasts all of 1 day as its a pain in the Butt typing in passwords all the time for every site.

FF not to sure.

Yea I realise it would end up being a pain but I've just been asked if it is possible, not practical. :)

So ever time you load a new site it asks for a password?

What I'm after is just a once off when the browsers open.

:thanks

683510 2008-06-29 04:45:00 Dont know of one off hand,Not free any way - BUT you can set it so certain sites are allowed, the slider bar has different options as well. I had a quick play - Selecting User Content (www.imagef1.net.nz) , as its default asks for a password every time, wouldn't even let PF1 (www.imagef1.net.nz) but you can lower / alter it to allow certain sites etc. Tried it on google , same result. wainuitech (129)
