683131 2008-06-28 00:52:00 I am experienced with XP but not Vista

I am trying to help an 85 year old lady with a 3 month old HP computer which crashed. A friend of hers spent an hour on the HP support line and in the end they gave up and said it will have to be restored but to get a tech to copy the data first. The old ladys friend asked if I would help to save her money

Using a USB adaptor, I think I have everything off. I have her entire personal folder (from Under USERS) already copied to my computer and I found where the Emails are but I cannot find where the contacts are stored. Nor am I sure of how restore these and emails after running the recovery procedure.

Any help much appreciated

683134 2008-06-28 02:30:00 The contacts for Windows Mail are in the user Files / Contacts folder. Example (www.imagef1.net.nz),When transfering to the new install you should be able to copy/paste them in.
You can also open the contact to see its details, and down the bottom left is a button saying " Add to Contacts"

If its Outlook then then its part of the .pst File

B....y Hell Its so easy when you know where to look. I had spent an hour hunting the net and nothing told me this simple fact. All references assumed Vista was running. As it turned out having copied her complete USER folder, it was already on my system

Very many thanks
