417027 2006-01-01 02:15:00 Hit the dirt a couple days back with the helmet camera. This footage is taken while using my sisters bike. There was a little interference coming through but it doesn't detract too much from the footage.

The angle of the camera is also a little off, adjusted it about 20 minutes into the ride for a better view ahead.

The footage is taken at South Beach, Wanganui. Starts off leaving the car park, then down a gravel road then into some trails, some damn bumpy trails as the video shows, then back onto the gravel road.

File is about 8mb...

For those wondering what the rest of this model bike looks like

417028 2006-01-01 03:05:00 Pretty cool, though I still don't see any upside down scenes. :p :D

I can imagine it would be a devil to get that camera angle adjustment exactly right but as you have said, it is better if more of the view ahead is visible rather than just the track/road itself. It's more exciting seeing the twists and turns coming up when you are haring around a course but you're getting there!

417031 2006-01-01 04:33:00 I spent the whole video time trying to tilt my head up . . my neck is still sore . . but a good show all the more .

Scared me when I saw you pass that car on the wrong side of the road . . . . and then realized that youse guys actually drive like that there! Whew!

Close one there!

All-in-all a class movie . . . like it and give it 5 stars .

Are there any cactus in your area? If we go off the path, we meet them and they always win .

We try to stay on the fireroads .

BTW: a 13 second dnld .

It only took me about 1 min 15 sec, not to bad.

417033 2006-01-01 08:16:00 What I'd like to know is, at the end, what happens when you mix the two colours blue and yellow? Cos it nearly looked like it was gonna happen! Greg (193)
417034 2006-01-01 08:30:00 Meh, I have been riding that track for 15 years, thats how I always take it.

Later on in the day I hit a series of holes full of water and ended up wrapped around the handlebars, Then later again I was doing a bit of a hill climb, was caught by the off camber and ended up wasting into the bush.

Me older brother had 2 offs that day, then right at the end of the day one of the other guys rolled his bike over and knocked himself out. Ended up in hospital, the diffucult part was that we were 2 hours away from the road out by then...

I have another video Im uploading at the moment, Its far more scenic then the first one, The camera is adjusted to take in the view and we blast through some sand bowls then a howl through the forest. Ill post a link when its done.

My next project is to take some film on the hill country trail rides we go on, Now that will scare ya, well, it scares me, I have narrowly missed certain death many times by a mere whisker.

Nothing like losing the old girl sideways and going backwards off a 600 foot drop......

Nearly every ride we see the rescue helicopter coming in to pick up someone who muffed it badly.

417035 2006-01-01 08:38:00 Uh, did you mean combining the blue bike with the yellow one?

I thought you were saying I was gonna crash and **** myself  I tend to ride on the verge of crashing more often then not.

Anyhow, I saw that yellow bike coming from way back, I had spied his cloud of dust well before I hit the road. There was also a bike infront of him that I pinponted by dust clouds...
