I have a slightly different model (AAR1) but faulty one here, after seeing your setup I might get round to fixing it and using it on my system for extra audio power on the computer.

Oh you win for sure. VERY tidy.
And a tidy desk is a sign of being organised I always thought.

Really?! I've had that for um nearly 18 years. And I got it 2nd hand.
It used to have the turntable, tune, tape deck etc too but they died one by one.
This amp is a bit dodgy now too - a friend cleaned it out once but on occasion I get a bit of static out of the speakers and I'm sure its the amp.

But I hate PC speaker setups. That friend of mine got a SOny Receiver 2nd hand and has 4 (real) speakers now - just needs the sub woofer. He keeps telling me to get a proper surround sound setup the way he did it. Mmmm, its very nice but more than I can afford right now.
Theres always new hardware to spend money on instead....

I have Akai speakers too, although its the 3rd set we've gone through....

what's the denomination of that NZ$ on the little desk to the far left? I can't read it...it loks like an odd amount and I am curious. ...looks like $127 something or other..but I don't think that's right.

Actually, I think many of them were assembled in the PYE Waihi factory in Auckland from 1974 onwards and have stood the test of time. Obviously they could never compete with the super-amps which came later but their small size and profile coupled with the good tuner made them a winner.

You are dead right Plod, 10/10 . It is a 20 pound note, send from some Welsh rellies for the kidlets for Xmas . As it is going to cost $5 to convert it to $NZ I have given the kidlets the equivalent and will put the note with my collection of overseas currency ready for the next trip somewhere .
