683492 2008-06-29 09:52:00 Well I kind of got further than before. I managed to get NF 2 SP1 installed.

BUT 1.1 got corrupted in the ISO lol (I tested it in Virtual PC).

I've read that the files that Ive got are actually meant to go in a folder called HFSVCPACK. Since theyre silent installers.

This is in google but it doesnt tell you WHERE its meant to go

Anyone know ?? Does it go in I386?

Before 1.1 installed and NF 2 wouldnt now its the other way round !

One thing you have to remember, is to rename any long filenames / updates to 8 . 3 format BEFORE you add them manually to the I386\SVCPACK folder .

(If you do this manually, you have to add the files you want to add, to the SVCPACK folder, and to svcpack . in_ first)

(first you have to expand this file: open command prompt, type expand svcpack . in_ svcpack . inf, edit svcpack . inf, then compress it again: makecab svcpack . inf, then it'll change back to svcpack . in_) .

Then delete any instances of svcpack . in_ / svcpack . inf in the I386 folder . And copy the svcpack . in_ file back to the I386 folder lol

Or if you use Ryan's Integrator / Nlite . Which will do it for you .

By the looks of it, NF 1 . 1 and the 2 updates have installed .

(You'll know this, because the setups ask you (like they do in Windows), if you want to install them, during the XP install . And all 3 were successful !

One thing, I didnt do was change the NF 1 . 1 SP1 update / other update to less than 8 characters before I slipstreamed them (which is probably why it failed before) .

It didnt ask me if I wanted to install any of them either, it just did it (or did something)

All, I have to do now, is figure out how to slipstream NF 2 . And its update .

It was going fine, but errored .

So, just have to edit the ISO and SVCPACK . in_ file (this is where the entries for the hotfixes / updates are ) . Save it, then resave the ISO . Then load it again in Virtual PC . Then see if it works .
