| 418186 | 2006-01-04 20:30:00 | Slingshot's reputation is not as good them (I think I am right?). Thus, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. How about, "Slingshot is an infamous ISP in NZ"? With regards to Pctek's comment "she is CallPlus as well?", do Slingshot and CallPlus belong to the same company? Yes Slingshot and CallPlus are the same. Like Telecom and Xtra sort of except Slingshot/CallPlus are all in the same building. Well I'm not keen on them (and I have had some experience with them from the other side) but dunno that they are particularly bad? KOL on the other hand are. Anyway if lawyers and stuff jumped all over people making negative comments about companies the courts would be bursting. What about all the slagging Telecom gets? |

| 418188 | 2006-01-04 21:59:00 | What about all the slagging Telecom gets? But the lawyers know that this country relies on Telecom, so REALLY badmouthing them would lead to a lot of dung being flung. (hey that rhymes) |

Anyway if lawyers and stuff jumped all over people making negative comments about companies the courts would be bursting. What about all the slagging Telecom gets? Most people who slag off Telecom have experience with them or they are slagging their business practices, not their service. James was posting negative comments about KOL and Slingshot as though he had personal experience of them, which he has not. If he had said that others had reported problems with them and provided some evidence of that then that would fine by me. But to diss an ISP without experience or supporting evidence is in my mind rather poor. I don't know what experience you have had with KOL but as I said previously their dialup service was perfectly adequate for my needs and people I have fixed computers for have also been happy with them. I am not saying they wouldn't have their problems and even though it may have taken a few attempts to get online during busy periods I never got disconnected or really slow speeds with them. If you want really cheap dialup access and are prepared for a little inconvenience at times then KOL would be fine. Slingshot I don't know, I haven't used them. |

| 418193 | 2006-01-04 23:53:00 | No, James - "infamous" is also a strongly derogatory adjective. It also implies a degree of fame. In other words, "everyone know how bad this is".. Obviously not suitable in this case. |
