683368 2008-06-28 15:45:00 As above?

Newsgroup not working for the past few days? Has vodaphone ditched them?

683369 2008-06-29 00:04:00 I wouldn't be surprised. They are a terrible ISP. I have a family member who signed up to their 'Free' broadband deal. They have now raised their prices, even though they had a fixed term contract. They also can't access many international websites, yet they can with other ISPs robbyp (2751)
683370 2008-06-29 00:07:00 Interesting Heads up there. I was looking at swapping to them the other week...guess not. vitalstatistix (9182)
683371 2008-06-29 03:11:00 Who uses newsgroups anyway?

What a pathetic reason for not signing up :(

683372 2008-06-29 21:36:00 I used ihugs newsgroups in a long time. I have Giganews which gives me my usenet fix.

It wouldn't surprise me if the server is down, they have had problems with it in the dim distant past.

Actually, I do. Some of them have a lot of info in them.

Some of them are better than signing up to some forums, since you dont have to register to post.

The only NG's that you may have to put a username / pw in, are some MS ones.

BUT, they usually tell you what it is on the MS site somewhere

683374 2008-06-30 21:48:00 I downloaded updates from the Ihug news server last night, was working fine. autechre (266)
683375 2008-07-01 07:21:00 No its not working fine, only post sent by Ihug or Slingshot user are appearing.

I assume its been quietly shelved!

683376 2008-07-01 22:26:00 I did see a thread about it in one of the ihug groups, but didn't really look through it. Time to call the helpdesk :yuck: autechre (266)
683377 2008-07-05 03:40:00 Ihug have done the "restart the news server" and called it fixed...........it's still not fixed.

give up on complaining to ihug, go to http://www.tdr.org.nz and file a complaint, they seem to get on ihugs back
